UNITED TEAM NEWS AND PREDICTIONS AGAINST BURNLEY

Manchester United return to Premier League football when they welcome Burnley to Old Trafford in their crunch league tie on Sunday. The Red Devils completed a 4-0 aggregate win over Spanish side Granada and confirmed their spot in the semi-final of the UEFA Europa League. They have set up a meeting with Italian side AS Roma who they will be playing two legs of football against to try and make it to the final.

Their focus will now be to continue their fine form currently and clinch a win over Sean Dyche’s tricky Burnley side who they face on Sunday. United manager Olé Gunnar Solksjær knows that his side can still mathematically win the Premier League this season, even though it is almost impossible, given that table-toppers Manchester City will most likely not drop any more points after their shock defeat against Leeds the last time out.

If United win their game against Burnley, they will be eight points closer to the league leaders and from there, anything can happen. One huge factor that can see United win the league title this season is the fact that City are still in four different competitions and player fatigue could be a big problem for them to handle. But of course, they have a strong squad depth and they can cope with a lot of squad rotation as well.

Ahead of their fixture against Burnley, Solksjær may be forced to rest Marcus Rashford, as the England international striker is said to have a sore foot and also missed the Granada game. That could mean that the trio of James, Cavani, and Greenwood could play a second consecutive match as Martial remains out injured.

Here’s how the team could lineup against Burnley:

Henderson, Wan-Bissaka, Lindelöf, Maguire, Shaw, Fernandes, McTominay, Pogba, James, Greenwood, Cavani.
