The Manchester United hierarchy is showing no urgency

The Manchester United hierarchy is showing no urgency in taking a decision on Louis Van Gaal and has kept the Dutchman in charge of the team for the upcoming Derby County match.

However, Van Gaal has been given no job security either and it would all depend on how the team plays from here on in.

It is believed that the Manchester United board would analyze the position of the manager at the end of each game and would act accordingly.

Van Gaal had offered to leave when he returned to the club from his trip back home yesterday, but, it was not accepted just like what had happened the previous month.

Van Gaal had put the same offer on the table in December as well when the Red Devils had been having a pathetic run, but, United had not let him go and it seems they are still not too sure what they want to do regarding his position.

Meanwhile, there are reports that not too many Manchester United players are amused with how this whole situation is being handled. They want some clarity over the manager.

Since, Van Gaal has come, the players have tried hard to adapt to his style of play which is quite different to what they were used to at Old Trafford in the past and now what they are seeing is that the authority of the boss is decreasing fast and that’s something which is bothering them.

United’s performance in the two legs against Derby will be key in deciding what happens to Van Gaal.

If he is sacked in the next couple of weeks or so, there are chances of Ryan Giggs taking his place as the caretaker for remaining matches.

However, one cannot consider the free agent Jose Mourinho out of the equation either.
