Louis Van Gaal has been quite busy negotiating transfer deals of late.
He is quite determined to help the Red Devils regain the Premier League crown and thus, he wants all the bases to be covered before the campaign in the coming summer starts.
United is currently looking slightly light on striking front with Robin Van Persie not in the best of forms.
Angel Di Maria’s performance in the previous season was not up to the expectations either.
So, the boss is looking to add an attacking option to his ranks and has his eyes set on the Croatia international Mario Mandzukic who is not in favour at his current club Atletico Madrid at the moment.
Apart from Mandzukic, Van Gaal has a couple of other players in his shortlist.
He is looking to strengthen his midfield too and thus, Joao Moutinho is somebody whom he thinks he would be better off landing at Old Trafford.
Moutinho, who is a Monaco player, is going to be put on sale this transfer window as the French club is looking to cut down a bit on the players’ wages.
However, Van Gaal is not the only party interested in Moutinho. There are interests from Russia as well with the reports suggesting that Zenit St. Petersburg is planning to place a bid for the player.
Manchester United finished the last Premier League at the 4th position in the table with 70 points.
It was a significant improvement if compared to how they had performed in the season prior to that.
They have started getting into proper shape again as a team and they can emerge as serious title contenders in the Premier League in 2015-16.
The Manchester United squad is scheduled to go to America soon for a few pre season games.
