JaapStam believes that Manchester United will win titles under Louis van Gaal

JaapStam used to perform for the Premier League club Manchester United from 1998 until 2001 and even though he is retired and no longer plays in a pitch, he still remains up to date with what is going around in the world of football and the former defender is certain that Manchester United will be able to return to their glory days under the guidance of Louis van Gaal.

In the first season that Louis van Gaal was in charge of Manchester United, he managed to push the team into the 4th spot of the Premier League and earned their Champions League ticket of the next season. It’s a significant accomplishment for a club and a team that was crumbling down after the managerial stay of David Moyes. This Champions League progression will depend on Manchester United’s playoffs match that they have to play in August and one of the possible teams that they will be facing includes: Lazio, Monaco or CSKA Moscow.

Former Manchester United player, JaapStam said: “He’s a manager with a lot of qualities and a great temperament; he’s done well at Barcelona, Bayern and the national team, so everyone in both England and Holland is expecting a lot of him. Everyone wants him to do well at United and to win trophies again.’’

Louis van Gaal now has the task of upgrading his team during the summer transfer window and aim to start winning major pieces of silverware for the next season and the pressure is beginning to build upon the Dutch coach because if he fails of accomplishing anything impressive in their next campaign he might be at risk of being sacked, especially now that the Dutch coach has a transfer budget of around €180 million but JaapStam believes that Louis van Gaal will be able to do it and turn Manchester United into the titans that they used to be a few years ago.
